Necessary Tools
Before you begin, make sure that you have the following items. To make a weed pipe out of an apple, you will need:
- An apple (Any variety or type)
- A Ballpoint pen/Chopstick/Spoon/Screwdriver (to poke a hole through the apple)
- Your choice of Marijuana Strain
- A lighter

Making a Simple Apple Pipe
Step 1
Take a medium-sized apple. Make sure that the apple is not too soft, or it will get squashed when you try to bore a hole through it. Now remove the stem. We will use this space as a bowl. You can also use a knife to carve it out to make bigger a little bigger to fit more bud.
Step 2
For this step, you can use any ballpoint pen. It would be easier if you can take the ink refill out. Now push the empty pen barrel directly down to the center through the stem hole. Push it only up to the halfway through the apple to keep your bowl airtight. Use a twist motion if it is difficult to push the pen through the apple. You can also use a stick, a spoon handle, or a screwdriver instead of a pen.
Step 3
Now you will need to create a mouthpiece to smoke the weed. Now pick a side of the apple and push the pen through to the other side. Make sure that it goes through the core and intersects the first chamber that you just drilled. The hole on the opposite side of the mouthpiece will clear the remaining smoke. Put the finger on the back hole and inhale to check if the air is coming through fine.

How To Smoke Out Of An Apple?
Just like any other weed pipes, you use the same mechanisms to create an apple pipe. You create the chambers for airflow, a mouthpiece, and the bowl out of an apple. Try any of the methods that I have explained in this blog post to make a pipe. Once it’s ready, simply pack the cannabis on the top of the apple where the stem used to be. Hold a finger on the back hole, light the weed up and smoke through the mouthpiece. Release the finger from the curb to get rid of the excess smoke.

Making a Hollowed Apple Pipe
To make a hollowed apple pipe, you will need a Knife, a spoon, a pen, and obviously an apple.
Step 1
Slice the top of the apple about an inch below the stem. The slice needs to be thick and sturdy as we will be using it as a bowl to pack the weed. Twist the stem off.
Step 2
Use the spoon to remove the flesh of the apple to carve a nice circular chamber in the middle. Don’t get too close to the side and the bottom of the apple when using the spoon. You can also use a knife to break up the flesh and scoop them out with the spoon.
Step 3
Poke two holes from the side of the apple with a pen. You can use them as the mouthpiece and the curb.
Put the lid back on the apple, and your hollowed apple pipe is ready for use.

Can I eat the apple after?
There is no problem eating the apple after the hits. But it might taste funky and will have all ashes from the strains inside. So, I would not recommend it personally.
Can I reuse my apple pipe?
Once you cut an apple, it can get gross pretty quickly. An apple pipe should be OK to use for a day or two. You will also need to clean the ashes before you reuse it. Remember, it is only a substitute, not a replacement for an original smoke pipe. So, I would not recommend to reuse it for more than a day.
Does the apple pipe effect the flavor of the weed?
The apple pipes do not change the flavor of the weed, but you might taste a hint of apple flavor when you smoke out of an apple pipe.
Is smoking out of an apple bad for you?
There are no adverse effects from smoking out of an apple. It just like smoking out of any ordinary smoke pipe.
