Sunset Sherbet Strain – The Ultimate Guide

What is Sunset Sherbet Strain?

Sunset Sherbet strain is an Indica dominant cannabis hybrid. It spells ‘Sherbet’ but pronounced ‘sherbert.’ It may not be as famous as its parents, but its flavor and effects are as good as its parents. The Indica and Sativa ratio of this cannabis strain is 85% Indica, and 15% Sativa and THC content can reach between 18% and 23%. The effects of this potent strain last for hours. It is a perfect strain to enjoy with some psychedelic music or mind-bending movies.

Background and Lineage

Sunset Sherbet was bred by cannabis tastemaker Mr. Sherbinski, who is also the curator of world-famous genetics: Pink Panties, Sunset Sherbert, and the Gelato line — Bacio, Mochi, Acaiberry, and Gello. The strain was accidentally produced when Mr. Sherbinski introduced Pink Panties into a room of Girl Scout Cookies in his grandmother’s basement.

It is a cross between Girl Scout Cookies and Pink Panties. Sunset Sherbet and its parents are almost oddly too similar. It got all its taste and effects from its parents. It’s parent Girl Scout Cookies shares the genetics from the famous strains OG Kush, Cherry Pie, and Durban Poison. The other parent Pink Panties, is a cross of a Burmese landrace and Florida kush that gives it the fruity flavor and sedative traits.

Sunset sherbet won the 3rd-place at the 2017 Amsterdam Cannabis Cup for best Coffee shop Flower.

Types of High

Sunset Sherbet combines powerful body-relaxing highs of Indica with the uplifting, energetic effects of a mild Sativa. Its predominant Indica high kicks in slowly (often several minutes) and gives you an enjoyable high. You will feel relaxed through your entire body. At the same time, its psychoactive effects will boost your mood, which makes this strain an excellent choice for social gatherings when you are chilling out with your friends.

The strain does not cause drowsiness as many other Indica strains, but it will help you relax and de-stress. Sunset sherbet is the perfect strain for the evening when you are ready to unwind.

If you are looking for an easy Indica strain to grow, Sunset sherbet is a perfect strain. Unfortunately, the seeds are not available for commercial sale, but you can obtain clipping from mature plants to produce clones.
The strain is low maintenance and naturally resistant to most common molds and mildews. Sunset sherbet can be grown indoors and outdoors, and it will require a warm Mediterranean style climate.

The Indica genetics dominates the growth pattern of this strain. The plants are tall and lean with dense leaves.

Growing Indoors

This strain is easy to maintain indoors. You will need to keep the grow room temperature in the 70-degree Fahrenheit range and monitor the humidity level regularly. The strain grows well in the soil rather than using hydroponics.

It will require regular trimming during the vegetative stage, so the broad fan leaves do not prevent the light and air from reaching the low-growing flowering nodes. SCROG method can maximize light exposure and supports dense flowers.

If you are growing this strain indoors in an ideal condition, the plant can grow up to 100-120 cm in height and usually flowers within 8 to 9 weeks with a yield of 7 ounces per square meter.
